Our WORKOUT OF THE DAY builds strength and conditioning through extremely varied and challenging workouts. Each day the workout will test a different part of your functional strength or conditioning, not specializing in one particular thing, but rather with the goal of building a body that’s capable of practically anything and everything. While other gyms pay for a one-size-fits-all group programming, we customize our own programming to tailor to our members. We analyze strengths and weaknesses and modify our programming to help our members get better and fitter!

Here at Athens.Fitness, our daily programming is built around a framework of strength movements—squats, presses, deadlifts, and the Olympic lifts. While we believe that virtuosity in these movements is an important part of your athletic development, we understand that not everyone shares our enthusiasm for barbell lifting. That’s where Bootcamp comes in! Offered Monday thru Friday at 630am and 630pm.

These challenging, high-intensity workouts will keep you moving, utilizing a variety of bodyweight movements and lighter weights. Make no mistake: This class isn’t a walk in the park. We program a separate lifting program that meets during designated times under the guidance of a USAW-L1 coach. Join us to practice olympic lifting, powerlifting, as well as accessory work to improve your lifts. Our members can also come to the gym outside of these designated class times to do the programming by themselves, but we encourage you to come to class to get feedback! Conditioning, or “engine” is a fundamental aspect of fitness, for both the serious competitor and the person competing only against themselves. The daily WODs provide considerable conditioning benefit for the untrained person, but an avid participant will quickly approach a point of diminishing returns to their conditioning from this style of training alone. Improving beyond this point requires a dedicated effort that utilizes running, rowing, biking, and skiing. We have cardio-intensive workouts that can be done together as a class or on your own time any time that we’re open, but you must yield equipment to our group classes.

People of all skill level are welcome. If there’s something that you cannot do, it’ll be our job to scale appropriately and find something that you can do! Our Saturday community workouts are usually programmed to be “simpler”, but that doesn’t mean they are easy! Whether you’re a newbie or a veteran you’ll get a great workout. Not sure what you want to do today? Come to our coach-directed “freestyle” class where you can do the workout of the day, bootcamp, aerobic capacity, or anything else that we have programmed. If you wish to do your own programming, you’ll need to come to open gym when we don’t have a class.

Open Gym

Our members can do open gym anytime with our new 24/7 access. However, group classes will always have priority for space and equipment so class times are for classes and the extra work we program. Members with 24/7 access can come anytime during the day or night, whenever it’s convenient for your schedule! All members must show proficiency before they’re allowed to participate in open gym. Maybe you want to focus on your cardio, maybe you want to get a little bit stronger first. While our group programming is amazing and our members get great results from coming to a few classes every week, we can’t program to hit everyone’s weaknesses.
